6.1 Earthquake hits Tokyo (Japan), Tuesday, March 15, 2011

A few days after a massive earthquake measuring 9 Ricther Scale rocked Japan, Friday, March 11, aftershocks continue to occur. An earthquake measuring 6.1 Ritcher scale shook Japan (Tokyo) on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 night at around 11 PM centered on land, so as not to cause a tsunami.

The quake's epicenter near the island of Honshu. The data reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) earthquake epicenter is different from last Friday. Precisely at coordinates 35.322 north latitude and 138.552 east longitude (BT) or 40 km northeast of Shizuoka and 115 km southwest of Tokyo. Epicenter expected on the ground at a depth of 1 kilometer.

Just a few minutes later, a second quake also shook the Tokyo again. This time the epicenter in the sea around the same area with the epicenter last week. 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 22:37 local time. The quake's epicenter at 296 km northeast of Tokyo.
