The tsunami waves impact of the devastating earthquake in Japan (March 11, 2011) are also up in the territorial waters of Northern Papua, Indonesia. The tsunami reportedly damaging several houses and bridges in the village Tobati, Youtefa Bay, Papua Province.

In the village Tobati, which form a separate island from the city of Jayapura and is in the middle of the sea in the Gulf Yotefa, tsunami waves crashing around 9:30 PM Eastern Time Indonesia, last night.
"In the worst-affected Tobati brunt of the tsunami is a settlement and a bridge in the sea lane," he said.
He explained that when he heard there will be a tsunami heading Jayapura, Tobati villagers rushed toward the local church which is located in the hills of the island.
"Three times we saw the water up and down, beginning approximately at 8.30 PM, the peak to destroy the village houses and bridges," said Marcelino Hababuk.
Currently, he said, villagers Tobati is trying to repair homes and damaged bridges.
"More seriously there is a house in the village adjacent to our Enggros washed until no trace of the tsunami," said Marcelino Hababuk.
Previously, the Bureau of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) Region V Jayapura, Papua, issued a tsunami warning will occur in waters of northern Papua. The tsunami is expected to reach the waters of northern Papua at 08 AM.
"That includes the waters north of Papua, namely, Jayapura, Sarmi, Biak, Serui and the surrounding area," said Chief BMKG Region V Jayapura, Papua Sudaryono.
Tsunami warning could make all the citizens who live in the city of Jayapura coastal areas chose to flee to safer areas. Although the tsunami did not affect the BMKG severe and then pull out his warning, it is enough to make residents of Jayapura became traumatized.
