Grounded Theory as a method / research study is a study to generate or develop theory. The theory was developed from situations, special events related. The situation includes a time when someone interact, take action, or reacting to a phenomenon.
Here is more about Grounded Theory Research
- What are the subjects experienced?
- What causes the occurrence of that experience? Why are feelings associated with experiences that come from?
- What strategies used by subjects to face or live event?
- What happens due to the use of these strategies?
- What are the specific factors and the broader factors that influence action strategies are they doing?
Data collection
- Interviews with 20-30 individuals to 'mensaturasikan' category and refine the theory.
- Participant observation
- Documents
Data Analysis
Open coding:- Collecting data

Open coding:- Collecting data
- Dimensionalisasi
- Establish the categories beginning -> segmentation information.
- Data is sorted into a number of dimensions.
- At this stage, researchers must go back and forth to collect the data, so that the data reaches a state of "saturation", in the sense of "all information" has been unearthed.
Axial coding:
- Arrange the data in new ways,
- Focusing on each category and see it in the database as a whole, to identify:
Axial coding:
- Arrange the data in new ways,
- Focusing on each category and see it in the database as a whole, to identify:
- What is causing the phenomenon occurred (causal conditions),
- What strategies or actions subject in response to that phenomenon,
- Context and conditions that affect the earlier strategy,
- What the consequences as a result of that strategy.
- Researchers find connection / interconnection between one category / dimension to the category / other dimensions.
Selective coding:
- Explain the central phenomena in a systematic and link it to other categories,
- Develop a hypothesis or theoretical proposition.
Conditional matrix:
- Develop a visual portrait of the phenomenon in the form of matrix,
- Explain the social condition, history, economy affecting these phenomena under study.
- Developing a coding paradigm, which raises theoretical model that describes the relationship between these categories visually.
